SAMSUNG - Samsung Galaxy J SnapPoetry
An innovative, yet “poetic" and entertaining competition was created for the new Samsung Galaxy J series. Galaxy J5 & J7 are smartphones aimed mostly to teens. Samsung wanted to reach out to the youngest audience in an edgy way by creating a contest based on Snapchat, audience’s favorite and most hype social medium not used for such contest experience before.
The Snap Poetry contest challenged audience to say poems inspired by the features of the new smartphones: the 13 MP light camera, the uniform metallic design, the fingerprint sensor and the radio. Not just poems, but poems enhanced with Snapchat’s funny filters in order to create buzz around the new J series while at the same time create engaging & rich content.
A microsite was created in which participants had to follow three simple steps:
Select the poem that they want to say via Snapchat, among those proposed.
Save video created in Snapchat in their smartphone.
Upload video to Instagram with hashtags #GalaxyJ #SnapPoetry
Participants automatically could enter the electronic draw to win one of the 10 Galaxy J!
In order to engage, Influencer Endorsement used for further Reach & awareness.
A digital video, as well as social media materials were created in order to further boost the contest.
In less than 2 weeks more than 3.000 Snapchat video participations were created & shared at instagram using campaigns’ hashtags!
