PIRAEUS BANK- Check In Class
A strategic promo that succeed to both get the university students inside their classroom and also generate traffic in the Piraeus bank stores.
Piraeus Bank, the leading Greek bank, has always used an innovative and modern communication making it approachable to the younger age group.
The challenge was to reach the “hard to get” university segment. The goal was to engage with the students, start a conversation and finally get the chance to talk to them in a Piraeus Bank store.
We could only reach the students with an activation that was based on their way of communicating, talking their language. Having in mind that more than 60% of students engaged with their mobile most of the day, we came up with a mobile-based promo though an app. And the best part, university institutions were happy to endorse the activity as we created a mechanism that rewarded student’s presence at their courses.
The “Check In Class” campaign. An app with geolocation where the more you checked-in at your university and attended your course, the more you were rewarded. For students then to claim their rewards all they had to do was visit a Piraeus Bank store.
So all 3 parties benefited: Universities + Students + Piraeus Bank! Many smiles.
Over 10.000 check-ins were completed and more than 10.000 new university visits were the results of the first wave of the activity. In times of capital controls such an activity was received with great positive from students. The campaign received Silver Ermis award.
